Oversized freight

When a cargo load exceeds certain limits, it is referred to as oversize cargo, oversized cargo or heavy haulage.

Oversized cargo shipping requires specialized logistics, as special equipment and careful pre-planning are needed when oversized cargo exceeds design clearances. Much depends on the definition of load size and weight restrictions - definitions may include, but are not limited to, the carriers themselves, road restrictions such as area infrastructure, or national regulations.
